Nashville Leadership Team

Danielle Christian Gibson, M.D., MBA – Laboratory Medical Director
Dr. Gibson is the laboratory medical director for Covenant Pathology Services in Nashville. Dr. Gibson received her medical degree from South Alabama College of Medicine, where she was inducted as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. She completed her residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in anatomic and clinical pathology (AP/CP) where she was Chief Resident of her program. She moved to Nashville for a Surgical Pathology fellowship with a Breast Pathology emphasis at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.


Charles Bramlett, M.D.
Dr. Bramlett is a native of Michigan who attended the University of TN at Martin with a degree in Biology and graduated with honors. He was the chief resident of his Vanderbilt residency program. He also was named an American Cancer Society Fellow and completed the combined Surgical Pathology/Cytology fellowship program at Vanderbilt. Dr. Bramlett has medical directorships at local hospitals in the Middle Tennessee area and has served as Chief of Staff and on the Administrative Board of Directors, at Maury Regional Medical Center. Dr. Bramlett currently serves as the Medical Director of the Medical Technology program at Columbia State Community College in Columbia, TN.


Elizabeth Harris, M.D.
Dr. Elizabeth Harris, M.D.Dr. Harris graduated from Yale University in New Haven, CT, with a Bachelor of Science (Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry). She finished medical school at the University of Maryland. Her education was furthered with a residency at Emory in Anatomic Pathology followed by fellowship training at Vanderbilt University. She is certified in Gastrointestinal/Hepatobiliary Pathology. Dr. Harris has been awarded the Vanderbilt Pathology Residents’ Teacher of the Year Award 2008, College of American Pathologists Foundation Scholars Research Fellowship Award 2007, Abraham Lilienfeld Award for Excellence in Epidemiology & Biostatistics 2003, and Rudolph Virchow Award for Excellence in Pathology 2003. She is a member of the Gastrointestinal Pathology Society, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Clinical Pathology, the College of American Pathologists, and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology. Dr. Harris has participated in multiple professional publications.


Roderic Bryson – Manager, Laboratory Services
Roderic was brought into the Covenant family in 2012 to assist the Vice President of Laboratory Services in developing and designing an Anatomic Pathology laboratory focusing on gastrointestinal pathology. Roderic has previously worked with well-known organizations such as, AmeriPath, PCA Southeast, and Esoterix (Integrated Oncology) as a Histology Technician, Immunohistochemistry Technician, and Immunohistochemistry Manager.


Robin Samanie-Dean – Field Service Representative
Robin Samanie-Dean - Field Service Representative Covenant PathologyRobin Samanie-Dean joined the Covenant team in October of 2015 as Field Service Representative. Robin graduated from Lafayette General School of Allied Heath Sciences Practical Nursing program in 1993. Since then she has been active in many aspects of health care including but not limited to clinical nursing, education, training, EMR and QM. Robin has vast experience with implementation and customer service.



South San Francisco Leadership Team

Anthony Victorio, M.D. – Laboratory Medical Director
Dr. Victorio obtained his medical degree at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, Loma Linda, California, and completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Loma Linda University Medical Center. In addition, he completed a fellowship in Hematopathology at LAC-USC Medical Center, Los Angeles, California. Dr. Victorio is Board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, as well as Hematopathology. He is a Fellow member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) and College of American Pathologists (CAP), also serving as a State Commissioner for CAP.


Brigitte Robert – Manager, Laboratory Operations
Brigitte joined Covenant Pathology Services in 2013 as the Laboratory Operations Manager. She was one of the first employees hired for the laboratory in South San Francisco to build this laboratory from the ground up by overseeing the construction project, recruiting and training the new team members, installing and validating all new instruments to running the daily operations. Brigitte has a degree in Medical Technology. She worked as a bench tech and has extensive experience in laboratory management and process improvement. She has worked for organizations like Ameripath and Sutter Health prior to Covenant. She is also a member of ASCP, NSH and CSH.


Gazal Alsaati, M.D. 
After earning her medical degree from King Saud University in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Alsaati moved to the Unites States to join the anatomic and clinical pathology residency program at Georgetown University Hospital where she served as the chief resident. Dr. Alsaati then pursued a fellowship in  cytopathology at Georgetown University Hospital followed by a breast and gastrointestinal pathology fellowship at George Washington University Hospital. During her academic career, she published numerous papers in gastrointestinal pathology and cytopathology. Dr. Alsaati is a member of the American Medical Association, the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, and the American Society of Cytopathology.


Dan Phan, M.D., Ph.D 
Dr. Phan completed his Bachelor of Arts in Biology at the University of Texas at Austin. He then completed his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences with honors in Clinical Research and fulfilled a doctorate degree specializing in Neurobiology and Developmental Sciences. Dr. Phan completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences as Chief Resident and continued to hone his skills with additional fellowship training in Surgical Pathology with an emphasis on Gastrointestinal Pathology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. While at Cedars-Sinai, he served as Chief Administrative Fellow. Dr. Phan has published multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals and has earned numerous honors, awards and grants.


Maha AlKhawaja, M.D. 
Dr. AlKhawaja completed her medical education at the University of Jordan , where she also completed a 4-year surgical pathology residency, followed by a surgical pathology fellowship at KHCC . Subsequently, Dr. Al-Khawaja completed a second pathology residency at Indiana Purdue University School of Medicine during which she served as chief resident. Dr. Al-Khawaja then conducted her fellowship training in gastrointestinal pathology at GI Pathology in Memphis, TN and joined there as gastrointestinal pathologist. In 2018, Dr. Alkhawaja did a 2nd fellowship in gastrointestinal pathology at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Al-Khawaja is board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, and is a member of the College of American Pathologists.


Michele Collingham – Field Services Representative
Michele joined Covenant Pathology Services in July 2015 as the Field Service Representative. She has worked for over 20 years with several large healthcare groups established Nationwide. Her experience includes Clinical, Laboratory, Quality and Education. She specializes in system’s implementation, physician relations and customer care. She has studied at PCC and CCC in Oregon.
